Hello & Welcome!

ProCredit Academy has successfully completed a dynamic three-day orientation for 50 participants who are interested in learning more about the Academy and potentially joining its Banker Academy programme. The orientation, which ran from 25 to 27 September 2024, provided an immersive experience to introduce the participants to the Academy, campus life, and the learning opportunities ahead.

The first day kicked off with an introduction from the Teaching Team about the Academy’s mission, its programmes and learning approach. The participants, who came from various branches and departments within the ProCredit group, had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their personal stories about why they were drawn to the Academy at this point in their careers. This session highlighted the diversity of experiences and motivations that each participant brought to the event.

Following the introductions, participants were given a tour of the Academy campus, which features the learning facilities and areas. The day concluded with the “Academy Olympics”, a series of fun and challenging activities that allowed participants to bond and foster the teamwork skills essential for success in the Banker Academy programme.

Team-building and critical thinking challenges

The second day focused on interactive team-building exercises designed to foster collaboration, creative problem-solving, and critical thinking. Participants took part in various activities, including the “Aqueduct”, where teams had to build a functional water transport system, and the “Plane Crash” game, which tested their ability to work together in survival scenarios. The “Average Game” further challenged participants to understand the importance of individual performance within team settings.

As the day progressed, participants were also assigned presentation topics related to climate change – an issue that plays a significant role in ProCredit’s sustainability initiatives.

Presentations and closing remarks

The final day saw participants present their climate change topics. These presentations were followed by a Q&A session, with current students from the Academy joining in to share their own experiences and answer questions from the prospective participants.

The orientation wrapped up with a BBQ celebration, where participants, Academy staff, and current students mingled and reflected on the insights and relationships they had formed over the past three days.

Speaking at the closing event, Pablo Groeger, the Managing Director of ProCredit Academy, addressed the participants and remarked, “We have been impressed by the energy and enthusiasm shown by this group. These three days were just a glimpse of what the Academy has to offer, and we look forward to welcoming many of you back for the full programme.”
