This course focuses on the immense impact of totalitarian regimes in the 20th century, particularly in countries where ProCredit operates. We compare two infamous totalitarian regimes, Stalinism and National Socialism. We begin by examining the historical context of these regimes’ establishment, their revolutionary processes, and the methods the dictators used to maintain power. Additionally, we explore resistance movements against authoritarian rule and consider strategies to prevent their resurgence in the future. Part of this course is an excursion to a memorial site.
