The Management Academy

What is the Management Academy?

Enhancing competencies for leadership and management

The Management Academy is where participants develop the skills needed to take on greater responsibility within the group and learn to deal with complex challenges. As the name “Management Academy” suggests, the participants are primarily current and prospective management staff of the ProCredit institutions.

Staff members are selected for participation in the programme based on an assessment of their performance and personal development to date by their bank as well as their achievements in the ProCredit Banker Academy and the English Language Centre. Almost all of the managers in the group have graduated or are currently attending the two-year Management Academy programme. While emphasising inclusiveness, the programme requires participants to meet high standards in performance and commitment. Upon admission to the Management Academy, the employees embark on a cycle of 18 courses divided into six blocks each year.

The aims of the ProCredit Management Academy are to generate greater comprehension of and identification with the ProCredit among the staff and to win their active commitment to serving as multipliers of our values and our business policy. It also aims to equip staff with the essential knowledge and skills in areas such as management, risk, and technology required for successful managerial roles, and – if the circumstances allow – to prepare them for the assumption of even more challenging responsibilities within the company. Participation in the programme is a standard expectation for aspiring managers.
